Version: alpha-2026-10-04. These terms take effect when first publicly published and apply to the restricted alpha described here.

About the current alpha
Oakday is being built for home projects, care and records. The current alpha is experimental and for made-up information only. It is not a complete app, a real-data beta or a public store release. Do not use it as the sole copy of important information. Connected Google sign-in, Drive recovery and sync, P2P sharing, live AI, purchases and advertising are not active in the current app.
Planned features described on this site are not promises that they are presently available. Reading these pages does not create an app acceptance record, authorize Drive access or enable AI. Normal onboarding and its version-bound acceptance remain to be integrated and tested.
Eligibility and permitted use
You must have legal capacity to accept applicable terms or use the product under an arrangement permitted by applicable law. The product plan targets ages 13 and older; regional eligibility and parental-permission requirements remain public-release checks. The alpha is not intended for children under 13.
Use the app lawfully and only with authority to enter or share the information involved. Do not bypass access controls, exploit quotas, interfere with another person's records or introduce malicious material. An app role named Homeowner does not establish legal property ownership or authority over another person. A local Profile is not a separate online Oakday account.
Your content and device
You retain your rights in your records. Any permission to process them is limited to the features you request and necessary support or security handling. It does not authorize selling household records or advertising targeting.
Protect your device, Google account, backups and recovery material. Supported local archives need usable recovery material. Encryption cannot prevent access through an unlocked or compromised device, plaintext export or a recipient's copy. The current alpha's Project preview is temporary and must not be treated as saved production data.
Planned Google recovery and sharing
Normal setup is planned to require Google sign-in, with local use afterward available offline. Google handles account passwords and recovery; there is no separate Oakday password. Private Google Drive app data is intended to store a capability that unlocks a valid encrypted backup. Google can access that capability and could decrypt recoverable backups. Cloudflare has no recovery role.
Signing in cannot restore a missing backup or deleted recovery record. Losing every usable backup or recovery path can make data inaccessible. Optional recovery codes and trusted-device transfer are additional planned paths, not current connected guarantees.
Sharing will require approval of people, devices and record scope. Revocation cannot retrieve copies someone already received. Disconnecting Drive, deleting records and removing backups are distinct actions. Restoring an old backup must preserve compatibility and permission checks. Connected recovery and sharing require further implementation and testing before use with real data.
AI and calculations
AI is optional and disabled in this alpha. When available, a separate explanation and choice must precede transmission. AI can make mistakes and must not silently change records or permissions. Review measurements, sources, suggested actions and calculations. Outputs do not establish permit approval, building-code compliance or professional advice. Use qualified professionals where the work requires them.
Free and paid services
There are no active purchases or subscriptions in this alpha. The planned local core remains useful without paid AI. Free AI has finite individual and shared capacity and may pause when allowances or the authorized operating budget are exhausted. It does not promise unlimited or perpetual inference.
Free, Plus and Pro are planned AI tiers. No prices, renewals or paid allowances are offered by these pages. Before purchases become available, their price, limits, renewal, cancellation, refund and applicable tax terms must be shown separately. Exhausted AI capacity must not lock the local core or grant household access to a purchaser.
Advertising is disabled. Later approved sponsorship must be labeled and must not alter saved facts or calculation results. Private records and Google-derived data must not be used for advertising targeting.
External services and updates
Google and Cloudflare have their own terms, availability and limits. Oakday cannot guarantee their future availability, pricing or compatibility. Local records must not depend on the AI service continuing to operate. A safe incompatible update may pause sync; it must not erase records to resolve an error.
You may stop using the app and remove copies you control. Removing the app does not delete external backups or recipients' copies, revoke every external authorization or cancel future subscriptions if subscriptions are later offered. Those actions need their own controls.
Limitations, changes and contact
No promise of uninterrupted operation, error-free output or guaranteed recovery is made for this experimental alpha. These terms do not exclude rights or remedies that applicable law protects. No arbitration requirement, class-action waiver, chosen court jurisdiction or contractual liability cap is introduced here.
Future releases will identify changed terms by version. Any required renewed agreement or feature consent must occur before relying on changed processing. Operator-name changes require a new release; accepted historical text must not be silently rewritten.
